Loch Laggan

A Norwegian lake in the Highlands – August 2025

When Bond drives a Toyota 4×4 with all his little family and borrows itAtlanterhavsvegen – One of the most spectacular roads of Norway and its impressive bridges – he quickly turns on a dirt road... and here we are in Scotland, more specifically at the Loch Laggan.

The place has been known since summer 2019, date of shooting. But so far, no one had made a real photo report: it is with a certain enthusiasm that we approach this (long) day. Equipped with a brand new drone, I was also hoping to get beautiful aerial shots and see the Digital changes brought to the landscape.

Solid shoes with feet, gourdes well filled (it was hot), anti-midges cream and some Sandwiches in the bag: we were ready for hiking. The walk is sublimebetween silence, nature and landscapes breathtaking. We took full eyes.

The film follows the path of lake from the south. Obviously, we must leave the car to the parking lot and provide a solution to recover it, as the full lake tower (with return by road) must take eight hours. The shooting spots are not complicated to spot. We even find some Internal plans, especially the one with this incredible white stone visible behind Mathilde Hey! Due to a relatively recent shooting, the vegetation has changed very little and the places remain perfectly recognizable.

The drone has kept all his promises, including general view of the lake absolutely beautiful.

Midges

These tiny creatures have become masters in the art of ruining a magnificent walk. A tip: read this site before you leave!

After almost two hours of walking in ideal conditions (and some bites of midges), we arrived on one of the most Iconic the sequence: the place where Bond gets rid of a Land Rover by projecting it on a ground springboard. This spectacular waterfall, filmed from the ground and from the air, is perfectly identifiable on site. The famous mound is still present, and there is little doubt that it was built especially for shooting.

Two great plans at the drone complete all of our images. As is often the case, surrounding mountains were amended by CGI to enhance their appearance « Norway ».

We even tried to find some remains of bodywork below, on the beach... but with the dense vegetation, we're out of trouble.

This sequence, turned between the 15 and 20 July 2019, had also partially fled into the British press, thanks to paparazzis installed on the other side of the lake.

After this memorable waterfall, where Bond eliminates the last 4×4 enemy, it sinks into the forest. On the spot, we found that the path was not leading anywhere and had become impassable — Here again, everything suggests that it was built solely for the purposes of film.

A truly pleasant moment shared with my two companions, François and Thomas. After this peaceful morning, one afternoon more sport We were... always waiting on the traces of James Bond, for the very end of the sequence in Scotland No Time To Die.
