Elle appara\u00eet \u00e0 la toute fin du pr\u00e9-g\u00e9n\u00e9rique, lorsque Jaws, apr\u00e8s avoir arrach\u00e9 la poign\u00e9e de son parachute, entame une chute vertigineuse avant d\u2019\u00eatre miraculeusement sauv\u00e9 en s\u2019\u00e9crasant sur le toit d\u2019un chapiteau. Si le plan ext\u00e9rieur de cette sc\u00e8ne est connu pour avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sous forme de maquette aux <strong>studios de Pinewood<\/strong> (avec seulement deux m\u00e2ts visibles) la partie se d\u00e9roulant \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du cirque a bien \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9e en France. Cette hypoth\u00e8se, jamais \u00e9tay\u00e9e par des sources solides, s\u2019est progressivement impos\u00e9e par simple r\u00e9p\u00e9tition. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019\u00e0 la suite de recherches approfondies et d\u2019\u00e9changes avec des sp\u00e9cialistes du monde du cirque qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 possible d\u2019identifier le v\u00e9ritable lieu. La sc\u00e8ne fut en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 tourn\u00e9e sous le chapiteau du <strong>Nouvel Hippodrome de Paris \u2013 Jean Richard<\/strong>, install\u00e9 porte de Pantin, \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 imm\u00e9diate de l\u2019emplacement qu\u2019occupe aujourd\u2019hui le <strong>Z\u00e9nith de Paris<\/strong>. Le choix de ce chapiteau ne doit rien au hasard. Entre 1975 et 1981, l\u2019\u00e9difice reposait sur une structure \u00e0 six m\u00e2ts et disposait d\u2019une piste de 50 m\u00e8tres de long pour 15 m\u00e8tres de large. Dans son \u00e9dition du 10 novembre 1978,&nbsp;<em>France Soir<\/em>&nbsp;indique que les lecteurs pouvaient assister au tournage, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme un gala \u00ab Jean Richard \u2013 James Bond \u00bb, sur <strong>simple envoi d\u2019un coupon coll\u00e9 sur une carte postale<\/strong>. Un autre article, publi\u00e9 le 28 novembre 1978, revient sur les conditions du tournage et r\u00e9v\u00e8le que la troupe d\u2019\u00e9quilibristes \u00ab <strong>les Traber<\/strong> \u00bb \u2014 et non \u00ab Travers \u00bb, comme cela est mentionn\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;article \u2014 avait r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une chute spectaculaire sur le filet de protection. Le public avait \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 mis \u00e0 contribution pour incarner une foule paniqu\u00e9e par l\u2019effondrement d\u2019un chapiteau. Le lieu a \u00e9galement servi de <strong>salle de concerts<\/strong> avant d\u2019\u00eatre d\u00e9finitivement d\u00e9mont\u00e9 au d\u00e9but de l\u2019<strong>ann\u00e9e 1983<\/strong>, lorsque la d\u00e9cision est prise de construire une grande salle de spectacles moderne.
